    6 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari Itinerary:-

    Day 1: Kampala – Bwindi (Travel Time +8 hrs)

    Our guide/driver picks you at 7:00 am from your hotel or place of residence in Kampala. You will drive to Mbarara, that is 283 km from Kampala, via Masaka. Make a first stop over at Equator crossing line for snacks and photography.

    You will then proceed with a visit to Igongo Cultural Village, for a more rewarding and amazing experience as you visit this Ankole museum. Get your lunch break at Agip Motel Mbarara, and thereafter lunch proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This is the lushest highland rainforest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps.

    Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Mist Camp (mid-range) or Trekkers’ Tarven Camp (budget facility). Meal plan: dinner.

    Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Bwindi

    Begin the day with breakfast as you get ready for your gorilla trekking experience, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the staff of Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). Ensure that you carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, and jungle boots among others.

    The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy primates for a group you have been booked for.

    Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare mountain gorillas – perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. Gorilla tracking may take between 2 to 6 hours but it’s well worth the effort. The afternoon is spent on a village walk.

    The Buhoma Village Walk gives you a great opportunity to see how the people surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.  It also is a great way to support the local community in a direct way. The walk begins after a briefing from your guide at your lodge and is most informative, rewarding to the every visitor. It will amaze you how resourceful the local people are as you see and learn their ways of life.

    Day 3: Bwindi- Ishasha – Queen Elizabeth

    Drive through what is probably East Africa’s most spectacular scenery as you head to the southern Ishasha section of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Get on a mini game drive in search for the rare tree-climbing lions, before proceeding to Mweya section for an evening boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. This is the channel that connects Lakes, Edward and George, with large numbers of hippos and buffaloes along the shores.

    Dinner and overnight stay at either Mazike Valley Lodge (mid-range) or Enganzi Safari Lodge. Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Day 4: Morning Game Drive – Kibale – Bigodi Walk

    Get on a morning game drive through Uganda’s best national park, where all the big game can be seen in abundance. The park is famous for elephants and kobs, but you can expect to see more rarer animals like the giant forest hog. There are over 638 recorded bird species in the park.

    Afterwards, you will head to Kibale National Park for lunch, and then go for a nature walk to the Bigodi swamp – to see unique flora and fauna.

    Meals and overnight stay at Primate Lodge/Forest Cottages (mid-range facility) or Chimpanzee Guest House (budget facility). Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Day 5: Kibale Chimpanzee Habituation Experience

    Today is dedicated for a luxury chimpanzee habituation experience. Start the day with an early morning breakfast and packed lunch before dawn breaks. You’ll first meet your guide for a briefing and then you are off to where the chimpanzees built nests the night before, in the forest. Dawn is just breaking and the chimpanzee community you are going to be with the rest of the day is rising from their sleep in the nests.

    Your day will be full so your camera will fill up with quality pictures of the chimpanzees. You will also get a chance to learn to identify as individuals by their markings, sometimes scars and other unique features set them apart from rest.

    Besides everything described, there are the most colorful butterflies, plants and trees that will amaze you because the forest setting is simply awesome.

    Meals and overnight stay at Primate Lodge/Forest Cottages (mid-range facility) or Chimpanzee Guest House (budget facility). Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Day 6: Crater Lake Visit – Return to Kampala/Entebbe.

    Enjoy an early morning guided nature walk through the crater lakes region of the park and outstanding cultural visit. Thereafter, you will be transferred back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport to catch up with your flight back home or to your next destination. Meal plan: breakfast & lunch.
