    This 4 days gorilla trekking safari and village community tour is one of the most unique luxury safaris to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.     4 Days Gorilla Trekking Bwindi and Village Community Tour

    Day 1: Entebbe – Bwindi

    Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will depart with the afternoon flight to Kihihi Airstrip in Bwindi. The flight departs at 1245, arriving at 1355, thus taking only 2 hours. While on your flight you will enjoy the aerial view of the beautiful changing landscape, to the lushest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates, exotic birds, valleys, hilltops, and papyrus swamps.

    On your arrival at either Kihihi airstrip, you will be transferred with our vehicle to your lodge.

    Dinner and overnight stay at either Buhoma Lodge/Mahogany Springs (high-end lodge). Meal plan: lunch and dinner.

    Day 2: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking

    Begin the day with breakfast as you get ready for your 3 days gorilla habituation experience, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the staff of Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). Ensure that you carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, and jungle boots among others.

    The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy primates for a group you have been booked for.

    Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare mountain gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but it’s well worth the effort.

    Time permitting, you will spend the afternoon on a Batwa village visit. The Buhoma Village Walk gives you a great opportunity to see how the people surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.  It also is a great way to support the local community in a direct way.

    The walk begins after a briefing from your guide at your lodge and is most informative, rewarding to the every visitor. It will amaze you how resourceful the local people are as you see and learn their ways of life.

    Day 3: Full Day Bwindi Village Community Tour

    Today is dedicated for a community tour, so your first stop shall be at a handicraft shop run by the community women´s group. These skilled artisans create beautiful grass mats, wood carvings, dyed fabrics, handmade paper and natural beeswax candles, which are perfect for your souvenir.

    Next, you will meet the Batwa people – former forest dwellers, performing songs and dances reflecting on their former lives in the forest – which they are no longer permitted to live in. One of the most important community figures are the traditional healers. They not only treat the sick, but also use their knowledge to conserve and educate about the various medicinal plants.

    A visit to the nearby primary school shall also give you an insight into the life of rural children in Buhoma. You will as well meet the friendly teachers and pupils.

    You will also see many banana plantations on your travel through western Uganda. This tour concludes with an explanation of the different types and a demonstration of how they are locally prepared. Watch, taste and enjoy!

    Day 4: Bwindi – Entebbe

    You have two flight options returning from Bwindi. You may choose to catch up on a morning flight at 1055 hrs. arriving at Entebbe at 1155 hrs. or with the afternoon flight departing at 1405 and then arrive at 1505 at Entebbe. Whichever option you choose, our guide will be ready to transfer you to the airstrip to catch up your return flight from Bwindi to Entebbe for your onward flight to your next destination. Meal plan: breakfast.
