This 4 days luxury gorilla trekking safari and volcano climbing in Uganda takes you to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Mgahinga is home to the habituated Nyakagezi gorilla family group – a fairly nomadic bunch that have been known to sometimes cross the border into Rwanda and the Congo.
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park sits high in the clouds, at an altitude of between 2,227m and 4,127m. As its name suggests, it was created to protect the rare mountain gorillas that inhabit its dense forests, but it is also an important habitat for the endangered golden Monkeys. You also have an opportunity for Volcano climbing including Mt. Muhabura, Mt. Gahinga and Sabinyo.
4 Days Luxury Gorilla Trekking Safari Itinerary:-
Day 1: Entebbe – Bwindi
Our guide/driver picks you from your hotel in Entebbe for your transfer to the airport to catch up with your scheduled flight to Kisoro. This morning flight departs at 0700 hrs. arriving at 0810 hrs., while enjoying the aerial view of the beautiful changing landscape.
The flight only takes 1 and half hours to the lushest highland rainforest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps. Upon your arrival to Kisoro Airstrip, you will be transferred with our safari vehicle to your lodge.
After an early lunch you will get ready to make a tour of coffee plantation. A visit to witness the whole process of how coffee is grown and processed, in addition to a community village visit.
Dinner and overnight stay at Mt Gahinga Lodge (luxury lodge facility). Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 2: Mgahinga Gorilla Trekking – Part of 4 Days Luxury Gorilla Trekking
Begin the day with breakfast as you get ready for your 4 days luxury gorilla trekking safari, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the staff of Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). Ensure that you carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, and jungle boots among others.
The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy primates for a group you have been booked for.
Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare mountain gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but it’s well worth the effort. The afternoon is spent on relaxation and sightseeing around your camp.

Day 3: Volcano Climbing Mgahinga
Today is dedicated for a volcano mountain hike. It takes around six hours to ascend and descend Mount Gahinga (3,474m), which is topped by a swamp-filled crater and giant lobelia. Lucky climbers may spot golden monkeys on their way through the bamboo forest.
You will return for dinner and overnight stay at Mt. Gahinga Lodge (luxury lodge facility). Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 4: Kisoro Airstrip to Entebbe
Today is dedicated for your flight out of Kisoro departing at 0825 arriving at 1125, ready for your onward flight connection back home or to your next destination. Meal plan: breakfast
